'My House' Option 06:
Custom Design Level
This 'My House' was one of the most
unique ever created. This piece is not a
replica of an actual house one can touch.
It is an interpretation of a dream.
The client requested a 'My House' based
on his best friend's "dream home." With
his knowledge of his best friend's
personality and her favorite things, we
worked together to select the style and
details of this 'My House.'
The client chose this sweet cape cod style
with a brick and siding exterior and
requested a country-feeling piece with
lots of autumn details and a hint of
Halloween.
The sweetest details he requested were a
paint color matched to a specific paint
chip he called "Martha Stewart green,"
corn stalks flanking the front door, a
house sign announcing "The Jivers" with
the address 1031 (October 31st) and a
street sign showing the intersection of
"Fall Harvest Circle" and "Happy Place."
We also added a mailbox with the name
and street number.
Then we added tons of autumn leaves,
lots of pumpkins big and small, a
backyard sunflower patch, a tiny gourd
garden, a couple of old fashioned
haystacks and a watchful black cat at
each entrance.
Often, on more architecturally intricate
replicas, we have to limit the amount of
extra details to be added due to time and
production cycle constraints. But with this
sweet and simple house style, we were
allowed to focus on the fun and creative
details.
The sweetest story behind a 'My House'
resulted in perhaps the sweetest 'My
House' ever created. And according to the
recipient of this gift, one of the best and
most memorable gifts she could ever
