'My House' Option 06: Custom Design Level
This 'My House' was commissioned by a Florida
client as a gift for his parents in Long Island, New
York.
This piece features a brick exterior and shingled
roof created with pressing molds-- a new method
implemented in 2009 for an even more realistic
look that closely resembles the Dept. 56 style.
Other details include several gabled and palladium
windows, window shutters, a covered and pillared
entrance, a rooftop patio, evergreen-filled window
boxes and a snow effect.
The client requested a Christmas-time feeling for
this 'My House.' In addition to adding
snow-brushed landscaping replicating the original
plantings, several potted evergreens were created
and placed at the entrances. Wreaths were also
added to the doors, under the front windows and
onto the chimney-- just as the client decorates his
parents' home each year.
(Note: In the photos, the larger brush trees are
Dept. 56 items and are not included with the
piece.)
